The
Interactive Readings are geared toward helping students develop reading
and audio comprehension skills and build vocabulary. They consists of
a story that has been coupled with a recording of that story, or a radio
broadcast with its transcript.
As the name suggests, students are able to interact with the reading in a myriad of ways. When listening to the reading they can jump easily backwards and forwards within the sound track, rehearing difficult passages. They can pause it and see exactly what is being read and see the translations of challenging words in their native language. They can then save these translations for later review with a mouse click. A demo and detailed instructions are available here.
