Language
Guide's mission is to develop free, technology rich resources for learning
languages and to provide a window into the culture of the people who
speak those languages. Language Guide hopes to help eliminate economic
barriers to computer assisted language learning, which promises to revolutionize
language learning, and to promote cultural understanding. It is a registered

Here are some of the projects our organization is working on.. Pictorial Vocabulary GuidesThe following pictorial vocabulary guides use the latest set of images.
The guides for these languages need to be recorded. Your donations are needed to help with this!
Interactive ReadingsThe interactive readings help students develop audio comprehension skills and buld vocabulary. Through the readings we also hope to provide insight into the culture and history of the people who speak particular languages. In addition to using the contributions of volunteers, creative commons and GPL licensed material granting reuse will be used (the wikipedia) and permission will be sought to use copyrighted material like magazines articles and public radio broadcasts. Currenlty we're focusing on developing readings for ESL students. TutorialsThe English guide is the most recent and advanced of the tutorials. Besides teaching English grammar, tt features vocabulary that complements the pictorial guides. The example sentences become progressively more complex as grammar and vocabulary is introduced. Quiz mode (press the 'q' key) encourages active learning.
More grammar focused guides have been developed for learning French and Spanish. |
