Like is a preposition. It must always be followed by an object.
Like (como) es una preposición, siempre debe ir seguida de un objeto

  Your brother is like you.
 Tu hermano es como tú.
  What is your father like?
 ¿Cómo es tu padre?
  They are alike.
 Son parecidos.

Los adverbios funcionan de la misma manera en la comparación.

  Mark runs as quickly as Kenneth.
 Mark corre tan deprisa como Kenneth.
  Paul doesn't walk as slowly as Karen.
 Paul no anda tan despacio como Karen.
  Anthony doesn't speak as well as Dorothy.
 Anthony no habla tan bien como Dorothy.
Just and almost are used in affirmative sentences. Quite is used in negated sentences.
 Just (justo) y almost (casi) se usan en frases afirmativas. Quite (casi) se usa en frases negativas.
Nota: en español no utilizamos estos adverbios en frases comparativas negativas y raramente en las frases afirmativas.

  I'm just as smart as you.
 Soy justo tan alto como tú.
  He's almost as mean as George.
 Él es casi tan ruin como George.
  He isn't quite as friendly as my brother.
 No es tan amable como mi hermano
  She isn't quite as strong as Arnold.
 Ella no es tan fuerte como Arnold.
