Like nouns, adjectives are either masculine and feminine. Normally masculine adjectives ends in a consonant and feminine adjectives end in an e. Plural adjectives are created by adding an s to either the masculine or feminine forms.
Whevever an adjective describes both male and female nouns, a masculine adjective is used.
In the above sentences, the presence of the e causes the final consonant to be pronounced. Otherwise, it is silent. The addition of the e can alter the pronunciation in other ways. In the following sentences the final syllable of the adjectives is nasalized. The e ending adjectives are not nasalized.
For some adjectives, the addition of the e doesn't affect the sound.
