Les adverbes Adverbs

French adverbs are usually formed by adding -ment to the end of the feminine adjective.

heureuse
heureusement happily
facile
facilement easily
franche
franchement frankly
parfaite
parfaitement perfectly
rapide
rapidement rapidly
       

  Un jour, vous parlerez français parfaitement.
One day you will speak French perfectly.
  Elle parle rapidement.
She speaks quickly.

There is a good number of adverbs that don't end in -ment.

 
bien well
mal badly
   
beaucoup much
peu little
assez

enough

Tu parles très bien.
You speak very well.

Luc mange peu, comme un oiseau. Philippe mange beaucoup, comme un ours.
Luc eats little, like a bird. Philippe eats a lot, like a bear.
